They are events that happen outside the original series and plot, they are NOT What-Ifs. there only about 2 movies that actually dont follow the story.....i think? If Gohan could control that power, he would be, really, really, REALLY, strong.

So he is able to be a lot stronger. If Gohan could control that power, he would be, really, really, REALLY, strong. That's exactly what the Elder Kai transformation does. It puts Gohan fully in control of all of his power. Throughout the whole series he had shown bursts of power stronger than any of the other characters at the time. So it's not so surprising that when he finally puts all of that power at his disposal, he becomes the strongest non-fusion character of dbz.

IE Favourite Manga Hellsing	I aggree with Cold here - elder kai unlocked gohans full control of his abilities, whereas before he could only access his full strength in short temper activated bursts he was now in a state of calm control
